a) Find a cool career. This one will require lot’s of research on my part—not just searching for open positions but figuring out exactly what type of jobs interest me. Thanks to ECON 403 last term, I’m pretty sure I want it to have something to do with stats and forecasting. That was an awesome course and I actually enjoyed doing the assignments and project.

b) Run 10k in sub 34:00. I’m not sure if this is possible (especially by the end of the summer!) but I’m hoping I can use this goal to motivate myself to run nearly every day. A couple summers ago I set a goal of running 10k in 40:00 and then by OUAs in the fall I was able to get my PB down to ~35:00. Admittedly, I haven’t been running regularly at all so this may be a tough one. I’ll set a safety goal of sub 36:00 in case 34 minutes is too adventurous.

c) Complete the 100 push-up challenge. I started this one today and am just doing it for fun. Supposedly it takes 6 weeks and it looks like you only need to do it three times a week (which I found surprising).

d) Finish watching the top 100 IMDB movies. Right now, I’ve watched 88/100 of these so this should be easy! The 12 remaining movies are Lawrence of Arabia (39), M (45), Rashomôn (71), All About Eve (74), Modern Times (75), Singin’ in the Rain (77), Metropolis (80), The Great Dictator (90), Once Upon a Time in America (91), Touch of Evil (96), Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (97), and Ladri di biciclette (98). From there, I’ll just continue pounding through the Top 250!

I think that’s about it for now. I’ll be posting with updates over the summer to help me stay on track.

I’m going to be keeping track of my runs using the Run Keeper and their sweet iPhone app. I tried it out earlier on my way home from campus and it worked very well. I’m looking forward to seeing all the geeky statistical goodness it provides, like my pace, elevation climbs, etc. Should be fun.

Supposedly I’ve got it setup to automatically tweet my latest run so we’ll see if that works (and if I can integrate Twitter into my blog somehow).
